For Ebon's supporters, check out the story in the Newark Star Ledger about the NJ AG threatening to sue Stevens because the top administrator is wildly overpaid. At a tax exempt non-profit I translate that into "kleptocrat".

Maybe there's a kind of psychology that contingent teachers need to watch out for: overpaid presidents (as in "I seen my chances and I took 'em") chop the head off anyone who dares address them about faculty pay. They prefer eyes cast downward, bowing and scraping.

Sadly, we adjuncts are only too aware of our vulnerability - not a few among have lost jobs for speaking out. Is it irony or hypocrisy that the least secure & most in need of protection cannot call academic freedom?

Sequestering his computers, files, and research without due process or legitimate reasons makes Ebon Fisher's case stand out all the more. Since when is the academy a police state?

I feel like this can't be legal in a variety of ways. It's just so fragrantly underhanded on the school's part.
