Michael Mandiberg, from Eyebeam's Sustainability Research Group, along with Natalie Jeremijenko and long-time Upgrade! New York attendees Zachary Leiberman and Mushon Zer-Aviv will introduce the evening with brief presentations answering questions such as:
Why is it imperative that we address the issue of our environmental crisis with data and graphics? Why here? Why now? What is it that this form of communication can bring to the cause?
The guest critics will also discuss briefly their critiera for a useful, engaging, and successful visualization project, before opening the evening to the Challenge participants to briefly present and receive feedback for their Eco-Challenge proposals.
