The Real Costs (2006) is a web browser plug-in that calculates carbon footprints on e-commerce, travel, and navigation websites, showing the carbon emissions of flights, rental cars, and e-commerce shipping.

One of the earliest artworks to confront the environmental crisis, Oil Standard has been written about in the New York Times and Art and Electronic Media (Phaidon, 2009). This work was supported by residencies at Eyebeam and the Banff Centre, commissions from Rhizome at the New Museum (2006), and Turbulence.org (2005), as well as grants and awards from CUNY.
